Vision

God willing we will acquire a piece of land in the Northwest of Chicagoland and build a church, dining hall (trapezny church) and open an Orthodox cemetery.

A deacon says these words  in a church service, “Again we pray for the blessed and ever-memorable founders of this holy church.” It is a great honor and privilege to participate in a building of a church temple. But perhaps, it is better to say those who participate in the project  are found by God to be the “vessels for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2 Timothy 2:21). In other words, God first found and called them for His good work.

If there is a desire in the heart to build a church and work for the glory of God, this may be from God. As it is written “it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).  This honor and privilege is extended to all Orthodox who are willing and making an effort.

The churches had been built by the “whole world” (vcem mirom – всем миром).  Every contribution counts  (Mark 12:42). And, therefore this is an invitation to every Orthodox who has a desire to participate and support this good God’s work.

We realize that the church building project is challenging and may take years and a lot of resources. Therefore, we plan to build a dining hall or trapezny temple first. It should be built relatively quickly and it should not be too expensive. A modern and modular technology or something similar will be utilized. This will allow us to begin liturgy services as early as possible.
