Vision

By the blessing of His Eminence Peter, Archbishop of Chicago and Mid-America the plans of the mission for next 3-5 years is to acquire a piece of land to build a dining hall which will be used for liturgy services and fellowship and open a Russian Orthodox cemetery.

Land

The mission will buy a land of eight or more acres for around $200k-$250k. The mission has collected over $5k from lunches and with other donations has allocated $23k for down payment and closing fees. The members of the mission have committed to contribute monthly for the land in total of $800 for the first several years.

Dining Hall

We realize that the church building project is challenging and may take years and a lot of resources. Therefore, we plan to build a dining hall as a modular building. A modular dining hall can be built from six to twelve weeks in the best case scenario. This will allow us to have liturgy and fellowships in our own building before the church is built. A modular building is estimated to cost from $55-60 up to $75-100 sq. ft. The mission will need a dining hall for about 50-100 people in size up to 1500 sq. ft.

Cemetery

The mission is planning to open a Russian Orthodox cemetery possible the first in the Chicagoland.

Church

Once we secure the land and build the dining hall, we will be in a position to make places about the future church. The church will accommodate 250-300 people and will be built in a crossed-dome architectural form. The style and size of the church will be planned at that time.
